Hello All Armchair Detectives and Sofa Sleuths
Join me on revisiting murders, both solved and unsolved, wicked acts of the past, and other singular events from history's casebook.
Hello,
I’m Helen, welcome to my publication. I started Murder, Misdeeds and Microhistory because I wanted to share the fascinating stories I find whilst trawling various archives.
As a microhistorian, I choose people and events that are considered unusual, or that deviate from the norm, e.g. a murder, the missing, the one person who stands up and says ‘I’m going to do things differently to you,’ anything remotely supernatural, or the just plain weird, and zoom in on the minute details. You’ll find free posts on all of these subjects and more. But, if you want to go even deeper into a specific event in history you can join me on my special project by upgrading to a paid subscription.
An In Depth Investigation Into an Unsolved Murder.
When I discovered the unsolved murder of five year old William Starchfield, I knew I wanted to investigate the case more extensively. This is your chance to access information from the original police files, trial accounts and newspaper reports, plus all of my research on the case. You’ll also be able to comment and put forward your own theories.
I aim to post once a week, alternating free posts with posts on the Willie Starchfield murder. All posts will go to your email inbox, but the best way to read them is on the website.
If you are a free subscriber and don’t want to receive the paid posts and previews of the Willie Starchfield Investigation you can switch off emails from this section (or any other) via manage subscriptions in the drop down menu below your account profile picture.
The links below take you to the first three posts of the Willie Starchfield section.
